CCTS CULINARY TEAM WINS THREE AWARDS AT COUNTY NJAC COMPETITION Congratulations to our Culinary Arts staff and students for winning three awards at the 2024 New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Vocational-Technical School annual Cook Off. SkillsUSA wins Chapter Award, Advisor of the Year Award, and 11 Medals Advisors and members from and throughout New Jersey attended the SkillsUSA Chapter Championship Award Ceremony on April 18th. CCTS had 11 students place and win medals in their categories. WELCOME NEW DIRECTORS OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT During the April Board of Education meeting, two current staff members were named as Directors of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment: Karen Gill and Jessica Tosti. They began their new post on May 1st and will work collaboratively, supporting our district’s mission, and continuing to serve our students and staff. FREE WORKSHOP "RETHINK DRINKING AND DRIVING" Mothers Against Drunk Driving is sponsoring a FREE workshop for high school students, parents of CCTS, and the community on Friday, April 19th from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Gloucester Township Campus. See QR code on flyer to register. There will be resource vendors, giveaways, and activities. CCTS WIN AWARDS AT SJ REGIONAL FLORAL SHOW AND COMPETITION Check out these photos of the beautiful and creative floral arrangements, aquariums, dish gardens, etc. that were entered into the 42nd Annual Student Floral Show and Competition at the Deptford Mall February 2-4. CCTS HONORS STAFF MEMBERS OF THE YEAR Six staff members from (CCTS), three from each campus, were honored during the December Board of Education meeting for being selected as Teachers of the Year, Support Staff Members of the Year, and Educational Services Professionals of the Year. The Business Partner of the Year was also honored. FFA STUDENTS PLACE SECOND IN STATE TURF COMPETITION Congratulations to the Landscape Architecture students for their achievements at a recent state-wide FFA competition! CCTS CELEBRATES Veterans Day CCTS celebrated all Veterans this year on Wednesday, November 8th. Sponsored annually by the Leadership/JROTC Air Force career program, the ceremony was held outdoors and featured the presentation of colors and flag salute, three speakers, music by our Vocal Academy Choir, Taps performed by Paul Wingate, Vocal Music Academy student, and a beautiful fresh floral wreath made by the FFA. CCTS Providing TI-84 Calculators Camden County Technical School is excited to announce we will be providing TI- 84 Plus CE Graphing Calculators (with the charging cords) to all currently enrolled students taking a mathematics course at each campus STRATEGIC PLAN WORKING GROUP VOLUNTEER REQUEST At (CCTS), we are in the process of updating our five-year Strategic Plan which will lay the foundation for our long-term planning. A critical aspect of the strategic planning process is the involvement of a cross-section of district stakeholders including administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community leaders, to share their input as we develop the goals and objectives which are the foundation of the five-year Strategic Plan. Extended Learning Program CCTS is offering academic support in the content areas of English/Language Arts, Math, and/or Science through our Extended Learning Program. Tutoring classes will take place in person and will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 2:45 – 4:15 PM. HIGHLIGHTS OF 2023 FOOD TRUCK & CRAFT FAIR FALL FESTIVAL The 2023 Food Truck and Craft Fair Fall Festival was held on Sunday and was a perfect Fall day. There were food trucks, crafters, live music performed by our students, and plenty of games and activities sponsored by our clubs. EARLY CHILDHOOD PRE-SCHOOLERS RECEIVE SPECIAL VISIT FROM AUTHOR CCTS Librarian/Media Specialist Karenlynn Williams became a published author this year as her children’s book, Rainbow Pie, came to fruition. She recently was a special guest in the daycare at CCTS where she read a copy of her book to them, and provided them with a signed copy to take home.
